PopUp Guide

Important Note:

You must use our  PopUp LEDs with the PCB provided as shown below.  Do not attempt to attach new LED to original switch installed to bypass work.

The original switch with resistor is not configured for an LED!  The LED will blow out!

The power connector for the Pop Up Lamp (marked DP122) should be disconnected
and removed from underneath the main board pcb shown above.

Below shows the removal of the two screws and tape harness that holds the lamp assembly in place.

'

Popup lamp assembly removed.

Cut the leads of the Orange and Brown wires as shown.  Then unscrew the switch assembly.

Once the wires have been cut you may easily pull the old lamp out of the metal assembly as shown below.

Use the small screw driver provided with your kit to
wedge and and pull down the internal spring by pulling the screwdriver in towards you.

The screwdriver should be able to stand freely by itself if the spring is correctly locked down.  Please inspect the spring in the photo (above) carefully.

To feed the wiring through the assembly.  The head of the wires should carefully be bent an an angle as shown (left).
This will allow the new popup wires to be easily fed down into the housing and exit out the bottom hole (right).

The sock and 3 silver screws provided with your kit should go to the areas shown.
The smallest screw attaches the PopUp Lamp cover.  The two longer screws are for the PCB to affix to the assembly.

The Small connector attaches to the cables as shown (below).

Attach the socket header as shown to the appropriate colors.  The socket should LOCK the cable in place.
If the cable is not locking you have it reversed and turn it the direction to fit into the header properly so that it locks in place.

Attach the PopUp PCB to the lamp assembly using the two longer screws provided.

Insert the cable socket into the PCB header.  Test the switch mechanism by pushing down the PopUp LED.  It should lock into place.

Feed the new power cable back underneath the main board and attach to Pop Up Lamp (DP122) as shown.
Note that the stamped side "Technology Transplant" is the top.  Reattach the lamp assembly using the old screws
or the two new brass ones provided.  You can then safely test the lamp before fully re-assembling the turntable to test.
